At the 2026 Arabian Travel Market, Emirates and the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) announced a partnership to promote tourism to Kenya. This includes joint efforts to enhance marketing to increase the number of international visitors to Kenya. The partnership will allow both parties to develop and implement strategies that improve their ability to market Kenya and provide better international transport connectivity.
Kenya remains one of the most popular and consistently high-demand destinations across Emirates’ Africa network. Through this collaboration, both organisations will work together to build on existing travel demand, promote Kenya’s tourism offerings, and create new opportunities to attract visitors from both established and emerging markets worldwide.
The agreement was signed by Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Centre, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Tourism Board. The signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from Kenya’s tourism sector and Emirates, including government officials and commercial leaders, highlighting the shared commitment to expanding tourism connectivity and strengthening Kenya’s position as a leading global travel destination.
The partnership is expected to support destination promotion, encourage international visitor growth, and enhance cooperation between the airline and tourism authorities as Kenya continues to develop its global tourism presence.
Adil Al Ghaith said, “Kenya has been an important market for Emirates for over three decades, and our commitment goes much deeper than operations and connections. We’ve consistently invested in our presence in the market, working closely with travel trade partners and tourism stakeholders to stimulate inbound travel, and contribute positively to the global perception of Kenya. Nairobi remains one of the top 5 busiest gateways for Emirates in Africa, with significant traffic coming from UK and Europe, as well as the US. This partnership solidifies that longstanding commitment, enhancing our collaboration with the Kenya Tourism Board and the full, thriving tourism ecosystem across Nairobi and Kenya.”
June Chepkemei said, “We are delighted to partner with Emirates to strengthen Kenya’s global tourism profile and showcase the remarkable experiences our destination offers to travellers around the world. Emirates’ extensive international network and strong reach in both established and emerging markets will help us build on the growing demand for Kenya and unlock new opportunities to attract more visitors. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to promoting Kenya as a leading, diverse and unforgettable destination, while supporting the continued growth of inbound tourism and the many communities that benefit from it.”
Tourism continues to play a vital role in Kenya’s economy, supporting employment, local businesses, and millions of international visitor experiences each year. The Kenya Tourism Board is working towards positioning the country as Africa’s leading tourism destination by promoting a year-round portfolio of diverse, sustainable, and authentic experiences designed to attract travellers from global markets.
As part of the partnership framework, Emirates and the Kenya Tourism Board will work together on joint promotional initiatives across key markets within Emirates’ international network. The collaboration will highlight Kenya’s wide range of tourism offerings throughout the year while encouraging more travellers to explore the destination.
The partnership will also focus on strengthening engagement with travel trade partners and tour operators through industry-focused programmes, including promotional campaigns, familiarisation trips, incentives, and other marketing activities designed to increase destination awareness and support tourism growth.
Emirates has built a strong presence in Kenya over three decades of operations to Nairobi, developing long-standing relationships with local communities and the travel industry. The airline continues to expand its role in supporting tourism growth, with its tour operating division, Emirates Holidays, recently partnering with the Kenya Association of Travel Agents to enhance travel opportunities by providing more than 300 travel agencies with improved product knowledge, network insights, and promotional support.
