IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has partnered with AlphaNam Group to present The Residences at InterContinental Sapa Resort. It will be the first InterContinental-branded residential development in Northwest Vietnam. This development aims to provide luxury branded living, coupled with world-class hospitality and the unique natural beauty of the Muong Hoa Valley that will bolster Sapa’s luxury tourism.

Set within the breathtaking Muong Hoa Valley in Sapa, Lao Cai Province, the project represents a major expansion of IHG’s luxury residential portfolio, bringing its globally recognised branded living concept to one of Vietnam’s most culturally significant and naturally stunning destinations.

The residences will be developed as part of the 83-hectare Alphora Muong Hoa International Resort Complex by Alphanam Group. The landmark project will blend premium residential experiences with the exceptional hospitality, personalised services and upscale facilities of the upcoming InterContinental Sapa Resort, creating a unique combination of luxury living, modern architecture and the rich cultural identity of the region.

Bryan Chan, Vice President, Development, South East Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said:
“We are delighted to work with Alphanam on the launch of The Residences at InterContinental Sapa Resort, as a welcome extension of the successful hotel partnership that we already have under InterContinental and Holiday Inn Resort. This landmark development brings together the global strength and legacy of the InterContinental brand with the distinctive character and natural beauty of Muong Hoa Valley, creating an exceptional branded residential offering in one of Vietnam’s most remarkable destinations.

“As Vietnam continues to grow its position as one of the world’s leading branded residences markets, this project reflects the increasing demand for high-quality branded living experiences and our long-term confidence in the country’s hospitality and residential sectors.”

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc My, Vice Chairwoman of Alphanam Group, shared:
“Developing a project on a heritage land requires the highest level of respect and discipline. We carefully nurture every inch of the land, plant and cultivate every new seedling, and approach every stage of development with thorough research, measurement, and rigorous consideration.

“For the InterContinental component, comprising the hotel and branded residences, we have chosen architects from the UK and Switzerland – not only leading names in the hospitality sector, but also professionals with a deep understanding of mountain climates, including humidity and cold weather, and, more importantly, a profound understanding of what guests expect when they come to Sapa.

“With our experience in real estate development and construction, we have invested carefully from the design stage to ensure that the project meets EDGE standards – an internationally recognised green building certification system focused on energy efficiency, water conservation, and carbon reduction. In doing so, the project is not only designed to deliver a modern and elevated living experience, but also to meet the highest standards of operations and guest experience, while being optimised as a sustainable product.”

The Residences at InterContinental Sapa Resort will feature 79 exclusive branded villas, giving residents access to a comprehensive range of luxury hotel services and facilities, including fine dining, wellness offerings, concierge support and personalised hospitality experiences.

Created by a globally recognised design team featuring DP Architects, Avalon, SCSY and P Landscape, the residences have been thoughtfully integrated into the natural landscape of Muong Hoa Valley. Each villa has been individually designed to enhance panoramic views of the surrounding mountains while preserving the destination’s cultural character and environmental identity.

Once completed, the project is expected to become the highest-altitude InterContinental branded residential villa development across the global InterContinental Hotels & Resorts portfolio, adding a distinctive new milestone to the brand’s luxury residential expansion.

The development also highlights IHG’s continued growth in Vietnam’s premium hospitality sector and supports its wider strategy of expanding branded residences in key destinations across the region. IHG currently has 35 branded residential projects either operating or in the sales phase with owners and developers across 19 countries, with further projects under development. Among its latest future residential signings in 2026 is The Regent Ho Tram in Vietnam, strengthening the company’s growing presence in the country’s luxury travel market.
