Marriott’s Global Loyalty Programme is fueling Saudi Arabia’s tourism momentum in ways few expected, and the reasons are becoming clear. Marriott’s Global Loyalty Programme rewards travellers, encourages repeat visits and creates stronger connections between guests and hotels. As Saudi Arabia expands its tourism sector, the programme helps attract leisure, business and religious travellers while supporting longer stays and direct bookings. Moreover, Marriott’s Global Loyalty Programme gives members more reasons to travel across the Kingdom instead of visiting just one destination. As a result, Saudi Arabia’s tourism momentum continues to grow in ways few expected through loyalty, convenience and rewarding travel experiences.

Marriott Bonvoy Makes Every Stay More Rewarding

Marriott Bonvoy is Marriott International’s official loyalty programme, available across more than thirty hotel brands worldwide. Membership is free and allows travellers to earn points from their first eligible stay. Members can redeem points for free nights, room upgrades and curated travel experiences while also enjoying benefits such as exclusive member rates, complimentary Wi-Fi, mobile check-in and mobile key access. Elite members receive additional privileges, including bonus points, enhanced room upgrades and late checkout where available. These benefits encourage guests to remain within Marriott’s hotel network for future trips.

Why Marriott Bonvoy Fits Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Vision

Saudi Arabia is welcoming more leisure, business and religious travellers as it advances its long-term tourism ambitions. Marriott Bonvoy complements this growth by giving international and domestic visitors a reason to stay longer, return more often and book directly through Marriott channels. The programme transforms a single hotel stay into an ongoing travel relationship, helping visitors discover different regions of the Kingdom while earning rewards throughout their journeys.

More Marriott Destinations Mean More Opportunities to Earn Rewards

Marriott’s growing presence across Saudi Arabia gives Bonvoy members access to hotels in key destinations including Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Al Khobar, Jazan and emerging tourism projects on the Red Sea. From luxury resorts and premium business hotels to extended-stay properties, members can continue earning and redeeming points across different travel styles. This broad network makes Marriott Bonvoy attractive to holidaymakers, business travellers and pilgrims alike.

Loyalty Encourages Longer Relationships, Not Just Hotel Bookings

Modern travellers increasingly value personalised experiences and consistent service. Marriott Bonvoy strengthens customer loyalty by recognising returning guests through tiered membership benefits and tailored rewards. As travellers receive more value from each stay, they are more likely to choose Marriott properties again, creating a cycle that supports hotel occupancy, direct bookings and long-term visitor engagement across Saudi Arabia.

FHS Saudi Interview: BlackSand CEO Explains Why Marriott Is Central to Its Hospitality Expansion

Speaking at FHS Saudi, Omar, CEO of BlackSand, described the event as an exciting platform for partnership, investment and hospitality growth in Saudi Arabia. He explained that BlackSand is a Saudi real estate development company working across hospitality, logistics, urban development and master-planned projects, with five major developments currently progressing from the east to the west of the Kingdom. During the event, the company announced a portfolio-level agreement with Marriott covering ten hotels. Omar said the development plan includes the first private-sector project of its kind in Saudi Arabia, the country’s first Marriott resort and eight other hotels. He added that FHS Saudi had generated a positive response, with developers, investors and hospitality leaders discussing ways to collaborate and advance Saudi Arabia’s real estate and tourism sectors. Discussing the Kingdom’s changing tourism narrative, Omar said Saudi Arabia is undergoing a major evolution in tourism and capital markets. He explained that developers previously had fewer incentives to create top-tier assets because there were limited institutional buyers. However, the formation of real estate investment trusts and the entry of more capital have increased demand for high-quality developments and provided clearer exit strategies. He also pointed to more flexible visa policies, particularly in Makkah and Madinah, as a major factor supporting longer stays. According to Omar, Madinah’s average visitor stay previously stood at around one or two days but increased to ten days after visa access improved, placing it among the highest globally. He said Saudi Arabia is becoming a global tourism hotspot from east to west. When asked how hospitality brands can stand out among the Kingdom’s mega-projects, Omar stressed the importance of partnering with the right institutions and developers. He said BlackSand’s ten Marriott developments have strategic qualities that distinguish them individually. Explaining the decision to work with Marriott, he described the company as one of the world’s leading hotel operators with strong synergies in Saudi Arabia. He also said Marriott has the world’s biggest loyalty programme and claimed that eighty-eight per cent of bookings at JW Marriott come through loyalty members. Omar concluded that BlackSand aims to work with the best global hospitality partners to ensure its projects are developed and presented correctly.

Marriott Bonvoy Supports Saudi Arabia’s Hospitality Future

Marriott Bonvoy has evolved beyond a traditional rewards scheme. It is now an important customer engagement platform that connects travellers with hotels across Saudi Arabia while encouraging repeat visits and deeper exploration of the Kingdom. As Marriott continues expanding its portfolio in Saudi Arabia, the loyalty programme is expected to remain a key driver of guest retention, stronger visitor relationships and sustainable tourism growth, supporting the country’s ambition to become one of the world’s leading travel destinations.

Marriott’s Global Loyalty Programme is fueling Saudi Arabia’s tourism momentum in ways few expected because it does far more than reward hotel stays. It encourages travellers to return, explore more cities and remain connected with Marriott throughout their journeys. This strengthens customer loyalty, supports hotel growth and creates lasting travel relationships. As Marriott continues expanding across the Kingdom, Marriott’s Global Loyalty Programme is expected to play an even greater role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s tourism momentum. The combination of wider hotel choices, member benefits and repeat travel explains why this approach is becoming a powerful driver of the country’s hospitality future.
