New Delhi: Dr. Shuchin Bajaj, physician, social entrepreneur and Founder-Director of Ujala Cygnus Healthcare Services, has been appointed to the Board of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI).
The appointment underscores Dr. Bajaj’s contributions to strengthening healthcare quality standards and his work in expanding access to affordable care across the country.
“It is a profound honor and responsibility,” Dr. Bajaj said in a statement. “Ensuring that quality healthcare is not a privilege but a right for every Indian is vital to India’s health and development narrative. I look forward to partnering with NABH and stakeholders to create a healthcare ecosystem where geography or income no longer limits access to quality care.”
Dr. Bajaj, named the Global Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 by the Schwab Foundation and the World Economic Forum, has been recognised for his efforts in developing sustainable and inclusive healthcare models. His organisation, Ujala Cygnus, operates hospitals across tier 2 and tier 3 cities, focusing on closing gaps in care delivery.
NABH sets accreditation and quality benchmarks for healthcare facilities nationwide. Dr. Bajaj’s inclusion on the board is expected to further support initiatives aimed at improving patient safety, enhancing care standards and expanding equitable access to quality health services.
