The last step in the process: gathering biometrics — will now be done only upon arrival at Indian airports, making the system even more traveler-friendly.
Key Features of India’s E-Visa for Kuwait Nationals
The new e-visa service caters to five visa categories:
- Tourism
- Business
- Medical
- AYUSH/Wellness (Including Yoga Travel)
- Conference
The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Adarsh Swaika, emphasized the significance of this step in a press conference on July 13, 2025, stating that this initiative not only simplifies the visa process but also deepens the bonds between India and Kuwait. By making the visa process more accessible and user-friendly, India hopes to further promote tourism, business, medical, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
Fast approvals and easy process of application
The speed at which e-visa applications are processed is one of the most refreshing things about the new service. If approved, applicants may expect to receive an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) via email within 3 – 4 working days and can be extended at VAC. Upon approval, travelers can carry a printout of the approved ETA and use it at any of 32 international airports and five seaports in India.
And with this switch to full digital services, there is no more waiting in long lines, or trips to the consular offices. Everything, from uploading documents to making payments, can be completed remotely, sparing travellers time and effort. They can do the biometric at the airport when they arrive in India.
E-Visa fees for Kuwaiti citizens and its Validity
The new e-visa for Kuwaitis is great value for money. The tourist visa is valid for up to five years and costs INR 6,868 (circa USD 80.07). For business visa, the e-visa will be available for one year. Medical and conference visas, for instance, are priced from INR 3,434 (USD 40.03).
Not only does the e-visa system offer more flexibility to the travelers into India, it also gives a wide range of visitors the chance to visit India. As tourists uncovering the nation’s rich cultural heritage, business-people attending meetings, or medical tourists receiving treatment in India, the e-visa system offers a smooth, stress-free way to get into India.
Flexible Arrival and Departure Options
Kuwaiti travelers with an approved e-visa will be allowed to travel to India via any of the 32 designated airports and five designated seaports for e-visa users. From inside the country, they would be able to leave from any official immigration point of entry and exit, easier than the current system.
This new service will offer Kuwaitis multiple travel options of arriving and departing from India, helping making travel to and from the destination comfortable. It is one of several measures India is taking in order to relax its immigration process as well as facilitate doing business and travel.
Traditional Visa Process Still Available

It has arrived just at a moment when India has become quick recently to embrace digital travel, and its use of immigration. The recent implementation of an e-visa process in Kuwait for a range of visa types, such as tourist, family, business and official visits, also signals wider moves to digitalize visa application forms in the Gulf.
