Iberia, the Spanish flag carrier, is all set to unveil its 143rd destination on May 21 with the launch of Espacio Iberia Madrid. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the airline is bringing back its highly anticipated popup experience to the Spanish capital. Aimed at both loyal customers and the general public, this immersive event gives participants the unique opportunity to explore Iberia’s world-class onboard services in an interactive and engaging setting.
This year, Espacio Iberia Madrid will be hosted at the Serrería Belga Cultural Space, located at Calle Alameda 15, just a short distance from the iconic Plaza de las Letras and the Landscape of Light. With its prime location, the event is set to attract visitors from all corners of Madrid, eager to discover the innovations Iberia has to offer.
Spanning a remarkable 1,000 square meters over three floors, Espacio Iberia Madrid will provide a comprehensive exploration of Iberia’s in-flight services. The immersive exhibition will allow visitors to experience firsthand the airline’s luxurious amenities and cutting-edge technology that make Iberia a leader in international air travel.
One of the key highlights of this year’s edition is an exclusive dining experience tailored for Iberia Plus members. These lucky guests will be able to enjoy Iberia’s renowned long-haul Business Class menu, free of charge, in a dedicated restaurant setting with table service. The dining experience is available in two lunch sittings from Friday to Saturday, as well as a dinner sitting from Thursday to Saturday. Before the meal, guests will be welcomed with a refreshing aperitif, served in one of Iberia’s next-generation A350 seats that will be on display at the event. These seats are available in Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins, providing a complete sense of Iberia’s premium service offerings.
Additionally, this year’s event will offer visitors the chance to get up close and personal with Iberia’s A321XLR, a groundbreaking aircraft that the airline became the global launch customer for in November 2024. The venue will showcase two Business Class seats, each featuring full-flat beds arranged in a herringbone layout to maximize privacy and offer direct aisle/window access. These seats epitomize Iberia’s commitment to providing a top-tier, comfort-driven flying experience for its passengers.
With its exciting mix of exclusive dining, a close-up view of cutting-edge aircraft, and a detailed look at Iberia’s world-class services, Espacio Iberia Madrid is not just an exhibition—it’s a celebration of everything that makes Iberia a leader in air travel. This popup experience is set to be an unmissable event for aviation enthusiasts, travelers, and anyone looking to explore the luxury that Iberia has to offer.
Interactive Experiences
A major draw of Espacio Iberia Madrid is its collection of interactive experiences, which can be booked in advance. The flight simulator returns, giving guests the chance to take off and land at various Iberia destinations, guided by an expert instructor. Additionally, the Birdly virtual reality flight simulator provides a bird-like flying experience, with VR goggles and motion-sensing arm movements, offering a fully immersive sensation. Visitors can also try Apple Vision headsets to explore a virtual aircraft engine, watching as it is dismantled piece by piece.
Espacio Iberia Activities
During its four-week run, Espacio Iberia Madrid will feature a variety of tastings showcasing products from Iberia destinations, including wine, beer, and coffee. Cultural activities inspired by these regions will also be a prominent part of the event.
Guests can also learn about Iberia’s sustainability efforts and social initiatives, discover the perks of the Iberia Plus loyalty program, and participate in contests for a chance to win Avios points. A special shop will offer exclusive Iberia merchandise, such as vintage posters, iconic Las Meninas salt and pepper shakers from Business Class, a limited-edition red handbag designed by Teresa Helbig for the airline’s uniforms, and model replicas of the A321XLR.
Talento a Bordo Program
Espacio Iberia Madrid will also host live talks and performances as part of the “Talento a Bordo” program. Guests will be treated to performances from notable figures, including singers Christina Rosenvinge, Rozalén, and Lori Meyers, as well as chef Hugo Muñoz (Ugo Chan). Additionally, the event will feature popular podcast hosts from Arsénico Caviar and Las Hijas de Felipe.
The Mystery Destination: EIM
Espacio Iberia Madrid was teased on social media earlier this week, with influencers sharing their surprise packages that included a boarding pass marked with the mysterious IATA code “EIM.” The enigmatic destination has now been revealed as Espacio Iberia Madrid itself.
